Inscription of Death  
 

 


Certificate of Death for the corresponding legal effects, in case of death of a Guatemalan abroad of the country,  is necessary to find out the closest Consulate from the city were the decease took place This Consular Section will immediately notify the Civilian Registry in Guatemala.


Following requirements are necessary:

* Original of the Act of Death extended by the local Civilian Registry

* Certification of Birth, or original of the passport of the victim of a murder,
Certificate of residence.

* The proceeding can be initiated by any person

* Two photocopies of all mentioned documents must be done.

*Certificate of death extended by the corresponding state authority where the death happened.

This certificate must include the following data:

  1. full name,
  2. nationality,
  3. date of birth,
  4. sex,
  5. occupation
  6. Address of the death person.
  7. Also the following data about the fact; place and date where the death happened, causes of the death and the name of the doctor who declared the decease.
  8. Identify document of the death person.
  9. Certificate of residence or passport
  10.  Original certificate off birth (obligatory)
  11. Identify document of the person who presents the case of death in front of the Consular Section.
  12. Certificate of residence or Passport

* Original and two photocopies of all the required documents.
